Established in 1992 as one of Shanghai’s pioneering foreign-related medical institutions, Shanghai Guangci Memorial Hospital was jointly founded by Ruijin Hospital and Tongtong (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd. Upholding Ruijin Hospital’s operational philosophy, it has provided safe, diversified premium medical services to expats and high-end local residents in Shanghai for over two decades.
Its exterior integrates the historic style of Sinan Road with exposed red brick facades, balancing distinctive historical character and modern aesthetics via AICA JOLYSAND decorative sand coatings that deliver subtle restrained elegance complementing red masonry.
Interiors artfully fuse classic French motifs and contemporary design. The entrance reception zone encompasses lobbies, lounges and a historical gallery; traversing successive French arches immerses visitors in the hospital’s developmental journey. Varied color palettes in outpatient and premium physical examination zones boost spatial texture and support clear wayfinding against neutral white walls. Integrated stylish restaurants, gyms and multi-function conference rooms convey modern concepts of life and wellness.
Medical interior design prioritizes patient privacy and physician workspace comfort to embody human-centric care. AICA supplied multiple premium materials for this project:
JOCLEAN coating (T1000/CJ400): Featuring AICA Japanese anti-stain nanocapsule technology to block liquid penetration, easy to wipe with soft matte finish meeting Grade 1 stain resistance standards.
JOLYSAND decorative sand (T2001): Water-based acrylic decorative coating with abundant colors and diverse textures for walls and logo backdrops, creating warm, stylish multi-dimensional atmospheres.
AICA continues to supply high-performance materials to craft more thoughtful, humanized medical spaces nationwide and globally.
